It is hot, so I lefted the little yorkies inside napping and went out to float on the river. Paddled up the river to see what was going on there. Watched the clouds make animals in the sky then disappear. Started floating back down to the house.
One mare came down to get a drink and get relief from the horseflies. She layed down in the water so far that the only thing you could see was her head. Usually if one comes down, they all do. But, it was just her. She didn't even notice me laying there soaking up rays on the float. Finally, her colt came down and walked down to her trying to nudge her up, but, she was enjoying her dip in the river and ignored the colt. The colt did notice me and was watching intently as I slowly passed by. Then a the rest of the herd decided to come get a drink. Knew it was only time as they seem to come at once. Of course, they all noticed me so it was time to mosy on.
As I slowly floated on, not wanting to scare the horses, my flock of geese flew over me and landed in my swimming area. There is one that is the leader as he/she keeps honking. they watched me but didn't fly off as I expected them too. The leader just kept herding them around to the other side. They seem to take there cue from it. They would dip all the way down in the water and shoot back up. Ahhhh Kodac moment and no camera! I guided myself to the swimming hole area shore and they just kept diving and moving on in the same process. They are big and they are beautiful.
